Women attacked by young cyclist in Narborough Road area of Leicester

A young cyclist who indecently assaulted women as he rode past them has targeted more victims than previously thought.

It emerged yesterday four other women have contacted police to report similar attacks.

One of the victims, who has only recently contacted police, yesterday described the emotional impact of the assault. 

"I felt violated and intimidated, especially as when my attacker was riding off he was looking back at me," said the 34-year-old. 

"At first, I was afraid to go to the police, but with the encouragement of my partner I reported it. I was shocked to hear others had been molested on the same day. 

"I hope my attacker will be caught and brought to justice as I don't feel safe walking around my neighbourhood knowing he could be about to pounce again. 

"I am scared every time I see a cyclist in a hoodie." 

The incidents happened in Upperton Road, Braunstone Gate, Imperial Avenue, Western Road, Great Central Way, St Nicholas Circle and Wilberforce Road.

Detective Constable Andy Spence said: "Since our last appeal, we have had a further four victims come forward, one of whom has said without our appeal she wouldn't have made contact with us. 

"We hope any other victims and any witnesses will see this second appeal and take the same approach.

"So far, inquiries have been focused in and around Narborough Road. We have managed to trace one of the incidents on CCTV.

The suspect is white or very light skinned and has been described as having a baby face. 

He is thought to be between 16 and 19, and is slim. 

He was riding a white mountain bike.

The incidents occurred between 11.15am and 7.30pm. 

The suspect will sometimes commit two or three offences on the same day.
