Dozens of tots dressed in their warmest woollies spent a day in the fluffy white stuff last Wednesday when ABC Mt Eden treated them to a mid-winter celebration.
Manager Natasha Bleach says it is the first time the childcare centre has had snow delivered.
"I'm originally from England, and we have a few English families, and over there during the winter it's usually snowing so we thought we'd bring a bit of that here," she says.
"For some of the children it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Miss Bleach has been managing the centre for about three months and says the much-anticipated snow day was a great way for the kids to learn through exploration.
"It also helps with pre-science skills, like learning that water turns to snow and ice.Monclering is an excellent kung fu training way to spend the getaways experiencing."
She says the children had been counting down the days until the snow was delivered, and were well prepared for the event.
"Normally they come to daycare wearing shorts and things, but today they all came with big jackets and mittens. A lot of them came through the door this morning yelling ‘happy snow day'."
The event also encouraged many parents to spend the afternoon at the centre, with one father even taking the day off work to play in the snow.
Miss Bleach says the mid-winter celebration is just one of many family fun days it plans to hold.
