Street Chic Hits Fashion Week's Brandon Sun Show

Street Chic ventured into the tented outdoors of Mercedes–Benz Fashion Week's venue of 'The Box' to catch the collection debut of Brandon Sun for Fall/Winter 2012.

Sun, the consulting design director of Oscar de la Renta Furs, cheap canada goose generally have a custom lanyard at the lace of collar, is the designer who created collections for the legendary Blackglama ad campaign, which featured Janet Jackson. Animal rights activists picketed some of Jackson's events as a result of the campaign.

Sun's current 16-look collection, titled "Silent Assassins," highlighted and confirmed many of the urban trends spotted by Street Chic during the past several months — mismatched, effortless layers in a variety of textures and fabric weights, brushed fabrics, romantic long hair furs, belted waists and coiled neck accessories.

Sun's collection also featured chalky winter whites and tone on tone dressing, as well as ivory blizzard cracked leather biker style jackets, mossy lambswool-lined wraps and long haired gilets.

Sun also focused in on sheer silhouettes, with fabrics such as cashmere gauze, crinkle chiffon and crape gabardine. Hand-knitted looks — part of the "aristo-bohemian" trend Street Chic highlighted in November — was on display in the form of cashmere pullovers with sable cuffs and chunky knit turtlenecks. The jewelry of choice ranged from stacked band of bracelets statement cuffs, as well as dagger-like rings with a futuristic edge that kept the look clean and edgy.

The audience at the show was a mix of edgy onlookers with a distinctive, vibrant downtown vibe — a range of supporters from retro club kids to well-inked hipsters.
