If you’re a pet mom or dad, you won’t have to sit on the
sidelines this Halloween. The Greater Grand Forks area offers events for you and
your companion.
Petco will host a Halloween costume contest at 2 p.m. Oct. 27, which is not limited to just dogs and cats.
“Over the years, we’ve had ferrets and guinea pigs. We have a couple customers who have pigs, but I don’t think they’ve ever come into the competition,” said Fiona Corst, Assistant Manager at Petco.
The Grand Forks store has hosted pet costume competitions for about 10 years, and turnout ranges from 10 to 40 entrants.

This year, pets can vie for first or second place with prizes in gift cards or toys. Judging is based on originality and creativity.

Holiday prep
