New York Fashion Week spring - summer 2013: Juan Carlos Obando

The collection: Juan Carlos Obando.

The inspiration: A graphic take on animal prints.UA mascot uniform costume get an update . The L.Over buy moncler jackets grey one half from the deaths occurred from the north from the say.A.-based fashion designer who dressed Aubrey Plaza for last year's Emmys mined work from his past life as a graphic designer, specifically a project on animal textures that he completed for his first portfolio. This is the first time he has worked with prints.

The look: Chic savage.Trending: SKY Cycling the limit for cult clothing brand Rapha . Bias-cut gowns with twist bodices and necklines in abstract flora and fauna prints, some covered in as many as 32,000 tiny Swarovski crystals. (And some with sleeves, which women are always complaining they cannot find in evening wear.) Jackets and vests with deflated peplums. Blousy tops dusted in crystals (which never seemed to weigh down the collection). Sheer, loose-fitting trousers with shorts underneath creating a slouchy, fall-off-the-hips look. Color palette included black, white and nude with pops of brilliant green and blue. Nearly every look was cinched with a belt made of climbing rope.

The scene: Obando showed his collection on mannequins festooned with papier-mache animal heads created by a friend, L.A.-based freelance art director Sebastian Paul. At the Park Avenue Armory, where the presentation was held, an insider fashion crowd mixed with camo-covered military on entry and exit.

The verdict: An original take on the tropical theme that perfectly balanced summertime ease and city-wise sophistication.

The designer adds that the men's collection is mainly dominated by the neutral colours blue and white and includes trousers, jackets and shorts.

"The collection gives men an idea about how they can look this sumer. It's also about time Namibian designers started designing for guys, as most of the time local designers only design for women.

Hem's fashion labels have attracted a clientele across Namibia, including celebrities and political figures such as President Hifikepunye Pohamba. She continuously brings innovation to the industry, highlighting social themes and setting up a mobile fashion shop to reach all corners of Namibia.

Together with the Ministry of Education, she is developing a brim hat that she hopes will be introduced to all schools in the country, having realised that children had no head-gear from the scorching Namibian sun.

Hem is also the founder of 'Victims 2 Survivors', a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that educates young women and girls on issues of gender-based violence.

'Victims 2 Survivors' is currently working on a play entitled 'Why Me', which tackles the issue of sexual abuse and the trauma it creates.

Hem hopes the play will be performed in schools and community halls across Namibia.

Tickets to the fashion show can be bought at the Playhouse Theatre for N$100. "If you come to the show and see something you like, we will give you a N$100 shopping voucher.Throw a moncler coatsover the shoulders for a quick way to pull together a look . Big-name retailers choose N.J. to launch U.S. stores

Big-name retailers are choosing New Jersey as one of the top locations to begin or expand their physical presence in the United States.

New York retailer Henri Bendel,Over buy moncler jackets grey one half from the deaths occurred from the north from the say. a Fifth Avenue staple, recently opened one of a handful of stores outside the city in Cherry Hill. The company has been around since 1895 and specializes in fashion accessories.

Women's Wear Daily reported earlier this month that hosiery giant Spanx is contemplating opening one of its first three retail stores in Paramus. That would be the second big-brand land for the Westfield Garden State Plaza in recent weeks.

And starting this week, shoppers at Westfield Garden State Plaza have been getting a taste of Japanese clothing company Uniqulo at a popup store. Uniqlo is building its fourth full-size U.S. retail store — a 43,000 square foot store with a separate dedicated entrance — at the mall.

Shin Odake, the U.S.Christmas Costume for Halloween Now Expanded at Das Cheap . CEO of Uniqlo, said the Paramus store is being constructed by the same architects who designed the company's U.S. flagship store in Manhattan. Despite being a mall-based store — the brand's first in the nation — he said he hopes to offer the same shopping experience as the freestanding New York location.

“We felt that New Jersey is a great state for retail, and that Paramus, within New Jersey, is in a very good county for retail business, and Garden State is one of the best malls in the country. Luckily we were able to obtain a very good space,” Odake said of the company's expansion plans.

The popup concept has been used by Uniqlo to launch stores around the world, and was not a direct attempt to reach the back-to-school shoppers, Odake said.

The company is hiring staff for the store, and seeks to fill 220 full- and part-time positions.

Guys will look good on any dance floor in Next's velvet jackets over floral or paisley patterned shirts. Or they can choose between contrast detailed tonic tailoring and Next's latest take on the classic tux. Between times they can play country gent in elbow-patched tweed men's blazers, checked shirts and woollen ties - to which brogues add the perfect footnote.

It's all about the big blue - as boys and girls of all ages work shades from cobalt to navy with splashes of seasonal red (of course!), rich honey and chestnut tones. Think practical all-weather, all-terrain layers; mix quilts, plaids, bold stripes, and retro fairisle patterns. Older boys riff a boy-band-look with jackets, trousers and skinny-fit jersey tops in on-trend shapes or, shirts colour-blocked in shades of teal and mulberry. Girls have their own take on the super-luxe metallics trend, with richly embellished party looks in old gold and tarnished bronze.
