Thar's
a new sheriff in town and he's a Dick! Dick Armey that is, the former
Republican House Majority Leader and major mouthpiece (and manipulator)
of the (alleged to be) grassroots Tea Party.
Recently it was reported Armey quit his job as the kingpin of his Tea Party group,Offer hermes handbags,
hermes kelly and many other styles. FreedomWorks. He got an eight
million dollar golden shower … err … parachute as his exit kiss. The
money came from FreedomWorks donor and founder of Cancer Treatment
Centers of America, Richard J. Stephenson. Don't really know about Armey
and golden showers, but what the hell, let's start a rumor.Shop the

As reported in the Washington Post,2012 has been an amazing year for SAXO BANK Cycling have
been some of the best ever! Armey marched into the offices of
FreedomWorks with an armed assistant, Beau Singleton, a retired Capital
Police officer, and forced two employees of FreedomWorks, Matt Kibbe and
Adam Brandon out of the building, apparently under threat of getting
shot. Why else would you bring an armed man to a pissing contest? That's
the threat. It says, “This man has a gun and he will use it if I tell
him to.”
Please don't try to argue it means anything but that.
It's
like drug dealers. They go someplace to close a deal. Most of the
participants are armed, but the dealers bring along these scary looking
guys who have Mac-10's or Glock 9's under their jackets ready for use.
It's really quite impressive when some short, fat … guy … let's say,
walks into the men's room of the Landmark Lanes — as a totally random
example — to meet another guy of equally questionable fashion sense and
moral character and each one of these guys has two “body guarFind RadioShack Cycling and running devices, heart rate monitors .ds” in tow.Welcome to SKY Cycling,
we supply most popular and valuable wholesale products. The bodyguards
stand there looking menacing as the two principles conclude their
business.
It's
impressive if you put aside your fear of what could happen if someone
sneezes wrong or the guy taking a dump in the stall — who no one knew
was there — flushes the toilet unexpectedly. Seriously, when that toilet
flushes the safeties get switched to the “off” position and the fingers
are resting on the trigger guards. Instantly. It's impressive.
Much
as it must have been impressive last September when Dick Armey marched
into FreedomWorks with his armed guard and told the people who pissed
him off to, “Get the [expletive deleted] out!”
The
Baltimore Post-Examiner's rules of decorum prevent me from using the
verbiage that is more appropriate, but this is an upstanding news outlet
and they have standards. I'm OK wit dat.
So
what would you do if you were working away taking the hard-earned money
of Teabaggers everywhere and the sorta boss walks in with an armed man
who looks like he might have been a member of the Marine Corps Special
Operations Command (MARSOC) at one time and tells you, “You're fired!
Get out!”
You'd
look at the armed guy and then gather up your things and leave. Or,
you'd start crying uncontrollably, which is what four of the people
working for FreedomWorks did. Apparently the crying won over Armey who
said they could stay.
The
two guys who were marched out at threat of gunpoint came back, Armey
was forced to resign and the rest is, as the old saying goes, history.
Just
a show of hands: how many people would take a golden shower for eight
million bucks? I'm raising my hand. I've endured plenty of indignity in
my lifetime and if I could get paid $8,000,000 for just one moment of
it, what the heck. Then I'm done being humiliated cause after that, why
care?
Anyway,
that seems to be the story all over the GOP-slash-Conservative universe
these days. One faction is fighting that faction; this group of
Republican Congressman is stabbing those other Republican Congressmen in
the back — hell, the conservative talkers on “The Five” are even
arguing amongst themselves over what this fiscal cliff business means.
This one thinks that one is wrong, the young guy trying to look too cool
for school is acting bored … there's no joy in FoxWorld tonight.

the art of henna
Two young girls, one in a black leather jacket and the other in an
army-green hoodie, sit on a bench in the Student Activities Center lobby. The
girl in the hoodie has her hand on the other girl's lap. The latter is squeezing
henna ink out from a cone atop her companion's hand, her motions similar to that
of a baker putting icing on a wedding cake.
After about ten minutes of careful tattooing, the process is done. The girl in the hoodie's hand now sports a lovely flower surrounded by different symbols of her choosing, little delicate spikes surrounding the spots around her fingernails. Some SAXO BANK Cycling produces a contemporary look employing subtly cinched hips in addition thinner phrases over the course of.
Sidra Khalid, a business management major at Stony Brook University, offers henna tattooing on and off of the campus. Her flyers are posted all over Stony Brook, showing her own favorite designs.
“I have loved art ever since I was born,” she said. “And henna's like my craze.”
Henna tattoos originate from South Asia, specifically Indian, Pakistani and Arabian cultures. It is common for women to get them during special occasions. For Hindu festivals, like Diwali, the Festival of Lights, henna is usually applied. They are also necessary for weddings. Brides, in particular, are tattooed for their ceremonies.
The ink for henna comes from the leaves of the henna plant. When collected, the leaves are ground into fine powder and mixed with water, oil or lemon juice. The ink may irritate sensitive skin when first applied, but is otherwise skin-friendly. Flowers, leaves and vines are the common patterns preferred by those who get henna. There are also more complex options like the peacock. These intricate designs don't specifically stand for anything, but they are general symbols of beauty.

She practiced on herself.
It's been 13 years since henna first sparked her interest, and she can see a huge difference in the quality of her work. Now, she tries to be up to date with the latest fashions, which she uses to inspire her designs.

Unlike typical tattoos, henna is not permanent. In Indian and Pakistani culture, permanent tattoos are not allowed. This is why henna tattoos are preferred: they fade within a certain time, so people can experiment with different designs on different parts of the body without making a commitment. “Rather than getting a permanent tattoo first,” Khalid says, “If you're really not sure about it, get a henna tattoo and see how that one looks.” Tattoos may last forever. But henna is not just a tattoo. It is a symbol of a culture, one that many others can appreciate and enjoy.

Bridal 'glam list' for 2012
Bridal accessories are bolder and chunkier this year and
will also reflect the new wave of brides who want to personalise their look, or
simply be unique by incorporating traditional elegance with their own modern
flair.Based on the original extreme weather canada

Here is the “glam list” for this year:
Victorian inspired: Accessories are taking a cue from the Victorian era. This year, we are seeing motifs that were once popular on Victorian jewelry: flora, fauna and bows. The incorporation of ribbon, lace and tulle on jewelry pieces is another Victorian influence.
Head gear: The shorter, face-framing “bird cage veil,” as well as fascinators are still popular. Ribbon headbands or metallic headbands that incorporate flowers, plumes and crystals are also trending. Other stunners are: bohemian-styled headpieces (similar to what Kim Kardashian wore for her wedding), jewelled barrettes, embellished hairpins and dramatic, crystal haircombs.
Bold colour: Modern brides are now exploring coloured gemstones and crystals instead of the traditional clear crystals,Thank you! It's very good moncler jackets men! diamonds and pearls. Earrings: Chandelier earrings are still “in,” particularly those that are in the geometric, art deco style.
Rings: Apart from the engagement ring, trendy brides are now wearing cocktail rings, which feature large real or faux gemstones.
Eco friendly jewelry: There is now greater interest from brides about jewelry that is ethically mined, recycled, upcycled or handcrafted.

Don't Judge the Marriage by the Wedding
There's this
couple I heard about. You won't believe their wedding plans. For
starters, you should know that they're young, early 20s. The bride wants
a big, fancy, wedding at this expensive hotel. She wants the groom to
wear a top hat and tails and her veil is like 10 feet long. The groom is
basically an orphan, and he works for the bride's dad. It's not like
her family is loaded, they're self-employed and struggling to put
together a family business. Oh, and get this, they just met like six
months ago.
Totally unrealistic right? Especially in this economy. Just another example of how today's brides are being ruined by reality TV and how people put so much effort into the wedding that the marriage can't possibly survive. Right?
Except that the couple above was my grandparents, and they had their fancy wedding in 1936 -- during The Great Depression. They were married for 70 years before they died within months of each other. They raised three sons, had nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. By all accounts they had a normal,We support best quality, best service, and fastest ship for those monster beats cheap! happy, successful marriage. It was a long walk to get here, but at least I'll be brief: I'm shop moncler jackets Darkslatebluem a writer.
Why do I mention all of this? Because I've been wondering lately about how much hate is directed towards weddings in general, and specifically, big or fancy weddings. I've been writing for a wedding blog for over four years now. Usually, on a wedding blog you don't get a lot of push back about the idea of a wedding, even a big one. But, any time you see an article about weddings on a general site (even Huffington Post) you also see a lot of negative comments.
About 10 per cent of the comments on a wedding article will be from people who think the whole idea of getting married is a joke. Why these people are reading articles about weddings and marriage is a mystery. Then, there will be a large chunk of comments from those who want you to know that they did not do anything as foolish as having a big wedding. They and their spouse spent $500 or less on their wedding, in their parents' backyard, and they've been married for over 20 years. These people want to know why today's couples can't be more like them. Why today's weddings are so big.
I get it. I too got married in a second hand dress at a park. On my mantlepiece I have a picture of my DIY Hippie-Dippy wedding right next to my grandparents' "Downton Abbey"-worthy extravaganza. If you had to guess, based on those pictures, which of us would go on to make a career in the wedding business, it wouldn't be me! But, do I think my marriage will be longer lasting or happier than my grandparents because I spent less money on my wedding? No, I do not.
I think we all make different decisions about where to spend our money for different reasons. My grandparents were immigrants. Perhaps they wanted a big, fancy wedding to show that they had made it in America, that they were here to stay.View profiles and information for RadioShack Cycling here. Perhaps they were trying to keep up with the Joneses in their small upstate New York town. Maybe my great-grandfather saw the big wedding as a business investment, a chance to show off for clients. Maybe, in the face of the Great Depression, the ongoing massacre of their relatives in the Holocaust, and the impending doom of World War II, they just wanted a reason to celebrate. Or maybe, my grandmother just knew how devastatingly handsome my grandfather would be in that top hat.

A heated waterproof golf jacket just in time for winter
For those who live in
parts of the country that require they play in cold, wet conditions through the
winter, Mobile Warming Gear is here to help. It has introduced a collection of
waterproof, heated outerwear designed for golf.
The jackets are made of a lightweight, breathable, waterproof fabric and feature a rechargable 7.4-volt lithium battery, "about half the size of a cell phone," Keith Apple, general manager golf for Mobile Warming Gear said. The battery pack can be adjusted from 90 degrees to 130 degrees. At the lower setting, the battery will last 10 hours before it requires re-charging.
The idea for the jacket came from Apple's son-in-law Joe Lusardi, an assistant pro at Locust Hill Country Club outside Rochester, N.He presented his work through the outfits moncler coats, and shirts of colours counting blue, green, dark green and sky blue.Y.
"When I started working for this company that made heated jackets,Nicki Sorensen claimed victory in the final race of the SAXO BANK Cycling season. I was in the ski industry," Apple said. "I was giving my son-in-law heated vests made for skiing. He said, 'this may work in golf.' I said, 'what would I have to do?'"
Lusardi and a few friends suggested lowering the collar and using lightweight-material stretch panels under the arm pits. The jacket has received approval from the USGA.
"The jacket is totally breathable," Apple said, "and the membrane is similar to Gore-Tex. It's 100 percent waterproof and has a waterproof zipper."
Oftentimes, women want to wear new styles: the Monitor shows 40% say they stay on the cutting edge of fashion or adopt style changes quickly. But creating a new outfit with all the in-store choices can get complicated. Without proper guidance, they either walk out empty-handed or pick up pieces here and there. The annual Santa Rosa Island Triathlon showcases area's support for running, RadioShack Cycling and triathlon competitions. Nearly two-thirds of Monitor respondents (66%) say they are more likely to buy separate pieces at different stores than an entire ensemble at one store, up significantly from 56% in 2008.
"Visual merchandising is so key to telling a story — the story of how women would like to believe they could live," Pellegrin says. "It also explains the versatility of certain garments. Magazines do features on that and stores should be doing it, as well. It would actually demonstrate the versatility of the garments and accessories,The cream suit featured a fitted, canada goose parka with a zip front and a matching skirt . instead of compartmentalizing it by category."
Nearly two-thirds of all women (65%) plan their apparel purchases, up significantly from 59% in 2008, according to the Monitor. Added guidance could come from displays and videos, as well as better product placement close to the outfit being presented.
Belk has seen its revenues grow by 5.3%. Strategies that have proved successful include its "Most Wanted" list of trends, which is available online, in-store, in the catalog and look book. It also created video shorts for its web site that show women how to choose and wear various items — like an ankle boot — in different ways. And Goldstein herself goes out and stumps for the company.
"I do a fashion PR tour in our top markets and meet with bloggers, tweeters and reporters to give them a look at our seasonal catalog — and they get the word out there. It's fun, but it's also about showing women the freshest and most versatile ways to wear what's hot this season."

First Look at Kung Fu Masters, Shaolin Warriors, Coming to Houston
The kung fu masters
known as the Shaolin Warriors are returning to Houston for two performances on
Saturday, Oct. 27,Leipheimer set to defend USA Pro RadioShack
Cycling Challenge title. at 3 and 7:30 p.m. in Wortham Center’s Cullen
Theater, presented by Society for the Performing Arts. BroadwayWorld has a first
look below.
Geared for the entire family, their latest theatrical
production, titled Voices of the Masters, showcases the remarkable skill and
stunning movement that is a trademark of the Shaolin Warriors. Performed by the
Buddhist monks of the Shaolin Temple, a sect that has become known throughout
the world for its disciplined spiritualism and deadly martial-arts prowess, the
production features many forms of Shaolin kung fu, as well as a look at the
daily temple life of the monks and their Zen Buddhist philosophy. Having trained
from a very young age in mental and physical disciplines, these kung fu masters
perform feats one thought only possible in the movies.
For nearly 1500 years, the Shaolin Temple has been the heart and soul of Chinese kung fu. The Shaolin Monks were men of action ready to defend, yet men of peace ready to console. The monks train in martial arts for several hours every day, perfecting the art of hand-to-hand and weapons combat. Each monk is required to achieve an extraordinarily high level of proficiency in each of the Temple’s 18 traditional weapons and to become a master of one.
However, it is the daily practice of seated meditation, which enables the individual performer to sustain a demanding physical regimen. Through a practice known as Ch’an (Chinese for Zen), they calm the body and focus the mind to a single collected point in order to attain a mental state known as Samadhi, or complete mental absorption. It is in this quiet, yet highly focused state of mind, that they are able to sustain extreme physical discomfort and pain and undergo the intense daily training required to achieve and maintain the level of adeptness for which they are so highly praised.Bennati agrees SAXO BANK Cycling Bank deal.

Hemlines rise and fall for Summer 2013 Milan Fashion Week
Women worrying about next
summer's fashionable hemline needn't fuss. Everything is in.
At Milan Fashion Week, it's clear designers are leaving it up to personal choice, offering everything from a trailing gown to a mini-skirt.
Jil Sander has returned, and it shows.
No more dabbling into romantic or experimental styles, as happened when the label was in tLeipheimer set to defend USA Pro RadioShack Cycling Challenge title.he creative hands of Raf Simons. It's back to minimalist basics for the 68-year-old German designer.

After founding the company in the late 1960s she came and left it several times before taking it back in spring 2012, and showing her first menswear in June.
For her women's comeback debut Sander concentrated on volume games, creating an interplay between abundance and fittedness, often showing a slim back paired with a bold front. As usual, she only used fabric of the highest quality.
Along with different forms to choose from, ranging from tapered to conic, from straight up and down to sculpted and curvy,,canada goose parka generally have a custom lanyard at the lace of collar, the collection was highly wearable.
The color palette of course was minimalist, black white and navy with dashes of plum, bright orange and red, just to quiet critics who claim minimalist means bland.
The designing team of Federico Piaggi and Stefano Citron presented their third runway collection for Ferre since taking over last year.
Their new collection had hints of Asia, including a bustier embroidered with snakes and maxi-obis that become mini-dresses. Asymmetric shorts and quilted skirts were paired with tailored white shirts ― a clear reference to the style of the late founder.
Giorgio Armani always has done his own thing, leaving others to follow if they chose. This unique routing-capable mapping product is designed for Garmin Cycling.
His collection for spring-summer 2013 is no exception. There are no prints, plenty of pants and more glitter than a nighttime constellation.
The Armani daytime jacket is deconstructed in a pearl gray with matching skirt or wide trousers cropped at the ankle.
The cocktail hour comes in the lightest of pale pastel chiffon, turquoise, blue and power pink, with long skirts over cropped pants and a small jacket. Armani also offered a skirt-on-skirt version of the same look.
But it's by night that the designer bursts into glitter with a myriad of beautiful gowns and sparkling pants enhanced by a plisse silk bodice. Nighttime shades are midnight blue, slate gray and some black.
At Dolce & Gabbana, the show began with short sun dresses in blue and white stripes that recalled the pattern of a beach umbrella. Then came the more elaborate printed dresses, inspired by the gaily colored decorations of a wooden Sicilian cart. These were accessorized by hoop earrings reminiscent of the wheel of the cart as was the painting on the wedged sandals.
Tassels like the ones on the horse's bridal showed up everywhere, like on the brightly colored straw belts reminiscent of the horses decorative harness.

The Topshop girl grows up!
The Topshop
girl grows up! Unique show sees groomed and glossy models rock the runway in
sheer dresses and plenty of checks
This was the day the Topshop girl became a woman. At the Unique show groomed and glossy haired models strode confidently down a futuristic catwalk in elegant and wearable modern tailoring, pencil skirts, billowing oversized tunics, asymmetric hem skirts, slim one shoulder dresses, and up-to-the-minute sports luxe looks with sweatshirts and sequins.
These self assured ladies wore towering nude or white spike heel shoes with transparent panels.
Under the expert hand of new Creative Director Kate Phelan, gone was the weird and wonderful suited only to gawky teenagers, to be replaced by the wardrobe of a self-assured woman.
LEFT: Checks ran through collection as a strong theme, while RIGHT, pop of yellow brightened up the monochrome
First up was a stunning monochrome selection of black and white mixed with giant checks which saw oversize chequered coat teamed with slim trousers and loose shirt.
As seen on catwalks around LFW, the mix of sheer and opaque with tunic dresses with checked or plain panels, relaxed shirt and trousers in yet more check, and a perfect cream trouser suit.
A pop of colour was introduced with sunshine yellow on a long, loose maxi-length shirt and matching trousers.
Bold white flowers on black were used for trouser suits and oversized tops gave a new take on florals, while black and stripes were also reinvented in contrasting panels in an fresh take on shift dresses, and all in a wearable, muted colour palette.
Covered up: Sheer panelled dresses and bra tops were made more demure with the long lines of oversized jackets or sophisticated coats
Assured: Velvet appliqué shapes on a sheer dress - set to be a big trend for S/S13
FROW; Pixie Geldof sat with Poppy Delevigne on the front row at Unique
Good times: A clearly delighted Pixie Geldof enjoyed the show - Topshop's biggest ever
In a very demure show of flesh loose navy tailored jackets and coats and covered pencil skirts teamed with cropped and bra style tops, or two-level slim skirts.
Maxi tunic shirts would make perfect holiday wardrobe staples.
Continuing the theme of mixing textures boxy pale nude sweatshirt shapes topped matte silver sequin skirts and the silver sequins appeared as one shoulder tops with black or nude little two level skirts, as tunic dresses with sheer band hems and as modesty-saving panels on sheer tunic tops.
To finish, this assured collection, another big next summer trend of black sheer dress, this time tunic style with velvet appliqué shapes.
So is the Topshop shopper ready to grow up? My guess is this will sit happily alongside the younger collections,Leipheimer set to defend USA Pro RadioShack Cycling Challenge title. and maybe entice another type of customer through the doors.

Theyskens' Theory RTW Spring 2013
If the key to creating a successful clothing line
is repetition laced with a little fashion, then Olivier Theyskens has gotten the
memo. Since teaming with Theory’s Andrew Rosen, Theyskens has settled into a
reliable formula — not necessarily a bad thing — of tailored daywear, denim,
tweed jackets and shorts and little dresses that are often knitted, followed by
a finale of dramatically melancholy gowns. Spring at Theyskens’ Theory was no
exception. But this time, what in the past was a nimble fusion of Theyskens’
often strong penchant for fantastical Goth-grunge and Theory’s Theory-ness — it
is a company that rose to glory by the seat of its great-fitting work pants —
appeared caught in a tug of war.
At first, Theyskens seemed intent on a fairly aggressive grunge motif anchored in dark colors and boxy fit. Black suits featured big jackets and wide-leg pants that created a long, square silhouette. There was also head-to-toe leather — a thick, black jacket worn over a blue shirt and matching pants.Nizzolo, Popovych commit to RadioShack Cycling . Maybe the clothes blended too much into the dark setting, but they didn’t hold up to what was meant as a strong statement. The best of the dark stuff was a cleanly tailored coatdress and a long, navy baseball jacket cut with dramatic volume. Then, suddenly, things turned icy blue with tweeds, washed-out jeans and dresses and jackets replete with sparkly snowflakelike embroideries. Prettier and more feminine than the previous looks, the soft stuff still had an edge even if it felt out of context.
In the men’s final today, defending champion Novak Djokovic will face Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray. It’s the fifth consecutive year the tournament will conclude on Monday instead of the scheduled Sunday because of bad weather.US team selected for Specialized Cycling Worlds .
Djokovic defeated David Ferrer of Spain 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 in a semifinal that was halted in the first set because of impending rain Saturday and wrapped up yesterday.
Worries about a potentially dangerous storm led the tournament to postpone Williams-Azarenka, making this the fourth time in the last five years that the women’s final was pushed from Saturday to Sunday.
When they got started,This is the Armstrong who inspired millions to get out and take up the Christmas Costume. Williams was good as can be, compiling a 16-2 advantage in winners through the first set.
She pounded big serves — she finished with 13 aces, at up to 125 mph — and big returns; smacked forehands and backhands out of Azarenka’s reach; even tossed in a terrific backhand lob to break for a 2-0 lead at the outset. The Donna shorts are one of Castelli Cycling first pieces of triathlon apparel .
Williams double-faulted to get broken in the second set’s opening game, and got broken again to fall behind 4-1 in a game that featured Azarenka sliding into a running forehand winner and nearly doing a full splits. Even Williams applauded that one.

Can 3D producers capitalise on China's demand for 3D?
3D Focus: Why do think
China is already the biggest market for 3D entertainment?
Wilhelm F. Mittrich: There are three cumulative economic trends from which 3D is benefitting in China:
Firstly is the “Middle Class Development“ as the dominant economic factor. The UN estimates that, by 2030, the size of the middle class in China will be four times larger than the one in the US. This goes together with the urbanisation of China.Monclering is an excellent kung fu training way to spend the getaways experiencing. It is the best time to be SKY Cycling. Presently, China has over 170 cities with a population of over one million and this number is expected to grow to over 220 within the next twenty years. This growth of the middle class and the corresponding growth of disposable family income means that all leisure activities, such as cinema, television and the Internet, are booming.
Secondly it is the "Culture as a Business". In its 12th 5-year plan (2012 to 2016) the Chinese government has not only put emphasis on the economic development of the domestic market in general, but on the development of “Culture as a Business“ in particular. As a consequence, a lot of commercial activities in the cultural sector – government supported and private – have taken place recently. The intention behind this is to position China as an exporter of culture and the government knows that this can only take place when a quality market is developing domestically which supports talent and raises the professional standards to an international level.
Thirdly it is China's intention to replace Korea as the world's dominant supplier of television displays. As Korea has replaced Japan for flat panel displays years ago, China's intention is to become the worlds leading supplier in 3D and Smart TVs. The 500 million traditional TV sets which need replacement in China's households are a strong basis to build on.
3D Focus: What have imcube Labs been doing in China?
Wilhelm F. Mittrich: imcube labs has been present in Beijing for some time now with a focus on introducing 3D related technologies and services to the Chinese market. This has resulted in the opening of a 3D conversion facility from which imcube is offering 2D to stereoscopic 3D conversion services based on imcube's proprietary and patented technology. We are also representing various European software and hardware technologies for which the Chinese market presents great opportunities. All our initiatives our centered around combining European quality with the potential of the Chinese film and trans-media market. What's a Good Credit Score to SAXO BANK Cycling with a Shopping.
3D Focus: Is China your most profitable 3D market?
Wilhelm F. Mittrich: To be honest, we currently see more challenges than profits. Whoever is attracted by the huge numbers of everything China seems to offer will learn fast that translating this into quick profits will lead to disappointment. We are still at the stage of learning and adapting. But we are not only finding obstacles but also pleasant surprises. One of these is the quality of artists which we have trained on post-production work like roto-scoping, painting and compositing / conversion. Whilst this work has traditionally been outsourced from Hollywood to India, we have found very talented, eager and reliable college graduates for this work, even in remote cities in China and the trainers we sent there from L.A. and Berlin had only good things to say about how quickly these students could be brought to an international quality level.
3D Focus: Is it film or television that represents the biggest opportunity for 3D stakeholders in China?
Bai Qiang: Definitely from films in the coming years. The market in China follows the same trend we see in the rest of the world: 3D in cinemas is booming, but 3D in TV is still at its very early stage. But as 3D films are very popular in China, more than in any part of the world, we expect 3D content to appear on television and especially on Internet VoD platforms very soon.
There are more than 6000 3D screens in China already, that is the second most in the world, only behind the US. For IMAX, China is the fastest growing market in the world. A total of 226 IMAX cinemas have been contracted to date out of which 92 are in operation. At the end of last year when the first “big budget” Chinese 3D movie, “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate”, a 3D remake of a 1967 Kungfu Classic, was released, it reaped $100M in box office revenue on an initial production investment of $ 35M and created a new IMAX revenue record of 12 million US dollars in 63 Imax cinemas.
The Chinese release of Titanic 3D generated $20m in the box office weekend – its largest outside the US. The first fully converted Chinese feature film has just hit the cinemas and we expect more to come. The big news is a film called Painted Skin II: It earned 500 million+ RMB ( +80m US$) in only 11 days, breaking all kinds of records for a domestic movie in China.
Wilhelm F. Mittrich: Dedicated 3D Channels like 3net in the US and Sky 3D in the UK have initially banned converted material as “not the real thing” and somehow inferior to “native 3D”. This has changed as the theatrical film business has proven that conversion – if done properly – can produce the same quality as native 3D and that it is even superior for certain productions. “Transformers 3” would not have been such a big box office hit, had it not been a combination of about 50% native 3D and 50% conversion of shots which could not have been done in native.
In the meantime, both leading 3D channels have officially announced that they will accept up to 25% converted material for their programming.
But here comes the next challenge: Library owners cannot afford the $93,000 per minute it cost James Cameron to convert Titanic. Even the going rate of about $50,000 per minute is far beyond what even a well-known library title could earn back with TV licensing.
And this is in line with the budgets of 3D TV channels, who don't have the reach to attract advertisers yet which would give them enough revenue to pay high licensing fees.
On the other hand the quality standards of Sky 3D and 3net are extremely high and they don't make any concessions. As a result, they reject about 90% of all incoming 3D material in the first QC pass, regardless of whether it is produced in-house, commissioned or offered by third parties. It is almost like squaring the circle to find a conversion technology which meets the quality criteria of the 3D networks, but at a price which they and their content licensors can live with. They are particularly seen to supply the RadioShack Cycling. After all, conversion is a manual process done by skilled artists frame-by-frame.Hunting from a Specialized Cycling is easier in a two-person watercraft.
Wilhelm F. Mittrich: There are three cumulative economic trends from which 3D is benefitting in China:
Firstly is the “Middle Class Development“ as the dominant economic factor. The UN estimates that, by 2030, the size of the middle class in China will be four times larger than the one in the US.
