Colder for a couple of days before big warmup, forecasters say

Winter jackets should be appropriate for the end of the work week, but short sleeves might be in play next week.

Officially, 0.42 inches of rain fell at the Dane County Regional Airport on Wednesday, boosting the precipitation total (rain plus snow converted to liquid) to 0.86 inches for March and the meteorological spring (March through May), 0.43 inches above normal.
For the year, Madison has received 3.29 inches of precipitation, 0.18 inches above normal.
