December's My Flair Lady: Debbie Ellick Wallace

Though she didn’t officially join her mother until after college, Debbie Ellick Wallace, 43, has been in the bauble business all her life.

Debbie has brought a fashionista’s eye and a younger clientele to Barbara Ellick Designs. 

A Penn Valley mother of three, Debbie favors clean, classic clothes and updates them with – what else? – knockout accessories. 

My uniform: Cashmere sweater or a leather jacket, jeans, boots and a scarf. 

Oldest item in my closet that I still wear: My 15-year-old gray wool poncho. 

Newest item in my closet: A Magaschoni color-block ruffled scarf. 

My favorite store: My own. But I buy a lot of clothes at First Impressions in Lafayette Hill. She has an eye for unusual things and cool pieces that are different. 

My online store: I don’t have one. I like to go and touch and try on and I’m not a good returner. 

My holiday fashion wish list: A hooded, draped wool coat with a shawl color by Vince in two-toned camel.They just want an authentic north face jackets to be cool. I saw it at Bloomies first. 

My fashion credo: Accessories make outfits. In a tough economy, they’re a cheaper way to revamp your wardrobe. 

My fashion pet peeves: Wearing a very big earring and a very important necklace. (Choose one or the other but not both.) My splurge: Shoes and boots.
